Swim, Bicycle, Run - A Triathlon Resource Guide

A triathlon is seen as a multi-sport event. Participants in a triathlon are mandated to finish three sequential and continuous events of endurance. The three events that are incorporated into a triathlon are swimming, cycling and running. The Sprint distance involves 750 meters of swimming, 20 kilometers of cycling, and 5 kilometers of running. The Intermediate distance involves 1.5 kilometers of swimming, 40 kilometers of cycling and a 10 kilometer run. The Long Course distance involves 1.9 kilometers of swimming, 90 kilometers of cycling and a 21.1 kilometers run. The Ultra Distance also known as an Ironman triathlon involves 3.8 kilometers of swimming, 180 kilometers of cycling and a 42.2 kilometer run.
